CBT

BCT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is best described as a ‘here and now’ focussed therapy. Its a structured form of therapy that is goal orientated and focused on learning techniques and approaches to tackle difficulties you might be experiencing.

As a CBT therapist, I will collaboratively help you identify negative thoughts and recurrent unhelpful thinking patterns in order to evaluate how realistic they are, as well as how to unlearn negative thought patterns and learn new, more helpful ones. CBT works for many difficuties, ranging from low mood, to low self esteem, anxiety, panic, PTSD, OCD, stress and much more.

Behavioural Couples Therapy is for all couples married or living together, monogamous or polyamorous.

Couples therapy, also referred to as ‘couples counselling’ seeks to untangle the cause of the problem and find the roots to both sides concerns, issues or dissatisfactions with the relationship and their position in it.

When clients come to couples therapy they are often thinking about ‘their side of the story’ and wanting someone to see ‘their’ issues within the relationship. However, as a couples therapist my role is to encourage both parties to see that it is the ‘relationship’ that is the ‘client’, and that we are here to help it.
